My blog...I will try to keep the PBR/Nikki Sixx/Jack White talk to a minimum :) I said TRY- so it's not likely...

I had a call from a Rockhead earlier today to let me know there was some live footage from Crue Fest at Riverbend of Life is Beautiful floating around on Youtube- Found it! So if ya didn't get to go or wanna relive it, here ya go!

For those who haven't seen it & wanna check it out, here's the vid for Buckcherry's "Too Drunk." They have both versions out on video, but I honestly like the edited version better....(and careful, it's just as catchy as TOAD's "Bad Girlfriend," it'll be stuck in your head all day!!! (Not that that's a bad thing...)

Hey Rockheads....well, here's the interview I conducted with the help of Rockheads Krystal & Katie at Crue Fest with James, Nikki & DJ from Sixx AM...I only wish we could have videotaped it so you could get the full effect of Nikki's text message marathon!

Scott Dowler of Mason was our lucky winner of a chance to interivew Phoenix from Linkin Park last week during Projekt Revolution...here's your shot to hear it- our Rockhead didn't disappoint- and a big thanks again to Phoenix! (if you hear music in the background that's Chris Cornell finishing up his set!)

OK, if you heard any of this morning's show, you'll know the Unprotected Sixx was a bit of a letdown...Basically to make a long story short, we were told that Nikki didn't want to do it, and I was told the interview would just be with DJ and James. (And nothing against those guys, we were just as excited to meet them, but the deal was with the WHOLE band). But a few phone calls later, and lo and behold we were heading back to meet DJ, James, AND Nikki. Right off I could tell he was not into it, and although he played along with most of the interview, it was almost annoying. First of all, he was texting on his cell phone pretty much the entire time we were talking with them, to the point where I tried to focus the majority of the questions to DJ and James. (Which didn't stop Nikki from interrupting my friend Krystal when she was asking DJ a question so that he could talk about his text message). Now Krystal, Katie (the Unprotected Sixx winner) and I all had brought our copies of the Heroin Diaries books with us for the band to sign, which he did after we asked, (because once the interview was over he started to walk away) and James & DJ signed as well.  But right after signing them, Nikki kind of said "OK guys," and walked away...so needless to say he wasn't in the picture taking mood. I wasn't about to ask at that point. That's when James said "Hey, you guys want pictures?" And he & DJ stayed there taking all the pictures we wanted, and also signing a few more things for a friend of Krystal's. Those two could not have been nicer, and actually were very genuine. I really, really wish I could say the same for Nikki. Unfortunately, with the exception of actually answering a couple of questions, he acted like he could care one way or another if he was there or not. Which is a shame, because it's the opposite of everything I've ever heard about the guy. (Well, in his recent sober days, anyhow). I'm not sorry I met him, because in the two to three minutes that he actually answered the questions I asked, he did seem like a cool guy & it was awesome to get to interview someone you've been a huge fan of for over 20 years. I just hope next time (if there is one) he really WANTS to talk to us and his fans, and that he leaves his cell phone alone for 10 minutes.

Now other than that, as far as the show went, I missed Trapt- Sixx AM was great- James was VERY impressive. What a voice! We missed Papa Roach because we were busy watching Nikki have a conversation with his cell phone....Buckcherry was FUN! They were a good time for sure! As for Crue, having never seen them, was everything I expected. They were amazing, and I was a screaming 12 year old girl for the whole show- although I have to admit I had to remind myself a time or two to forget about the meeting with Nikki so I co ... Hey Rockheads...I'm just takin' a quick break from our Helluva Week to update my blog & say hello! I hope you've been able to make it out to the shows, and thanks to all of you who have stopped by either at the Tom Raper 40' Mobile Concert Cabin or our 96 Rock tent to say hi!! It's great to meet ya'll in person for a change! I know Julie, our Helluva Week winner, and her friend Stacie are having a FABULOUS time! (I know cuz I've pretty much been helping them celebrate the last few days!)

So what do you guys think so far? How was Kid Rock? What about Projekt Revolution? Did you go to Poison last night, or the after party? (Speaking of, if anyone went to the after party & met Bret, let me know how that went- we didn't see him :(

So far, Linkin Park has been the highlight for me. I like them, but I'm not a huge fan- but that was probably the best live show (or top 3 at least) that I have ever seen. But talk to me after Crue Fest, that might change! ;-)  Speaking of, only TWO MORE DAYS!!!! We'll be announcing the Unprotected Sixx winner at some point tomorrow, and whoever that is, no doubt a great time will be had! I'm extremely excited for Tuesday to get here, and no worries, we'll give ya the full details! Now go rest up so we can end the Helluva Week on Tuesday the way it should be done- and we'll see you there!
