A while back, I was made an Honorary Cincinnati Rollergirl. I wish I could say I skate well, but let's face it, I'm lucky to walk a straight line sober. But I wanted to take a minute & give those ladies credit where it's due- cuz they're badass!! You can get all their info at www.cincinnatirollergirls.com!! I also found a clip from one of their bouts- take a sec and check 'em out in action:

I wanted to take a quick second & thank the guys & gals from the Norwood Fire Department for having Fin, Richard & myself out for their golf scramble this past Saturday. We had a blast- the weather cleared up, and I got to drive my new friend Adam around all afternoon instead of suffer thru getting made fun of by Skinner- and all for a great cause!

I'm a bit late on posting my review of the show at Bogarts last Thursday....but needless to say (and I'm sure most of you have heard by now, anyway) Tom, Fin & I had a very good time!
Saving Abel was great...by far the most mellow of the bands for the evening, but no disappointment there...Although I must admit during their set I was mostly talking to Tom & getting our beer situation settled, so I wasn't completely fixed on the show the entire time.
Airbourne was just FUN. An absolute blast. And it showed that they were having just as much fun as the crowd was having. In all honesty one of the best live performances I've seen in a very long time. (And they're pretty fun to drink with, too! ;-)
Theory of a Deadman, well what can you say other than it was what I expected- a damn good show. The guys stopped by the studio earlier that day & chatted with Fin, and also played a couple of tunes (you can che ...

Tonight's the night Rockheads...Theory, Saving Abel & Airbourne at Bogarts...Gamble, Fin & I will all be attending so if ya can't make it out, tune in tomorrow morning for The Two Angry Guys (6 to 10am, but you already knew that!) for a full review. No worries, I'll go easy on the PBR's so I can pass on every detail! (I fine!)
The guys from Theory of a Deadman will also be in the studio very soon- in just a little over an hour- at 3pm with Fin. In the meantime, enjoy this from your friends at youtube....

I just finished re-reading The Heroin Diaries a few days ago... I hadn't read the book since I first bought it. (It's not really one of those you pick up all the time to re-read, but nonetheless a great book). Despite the dark subject matter, I had forgotten how funny some of it actually is- the backstage stories, etc. I was just curious to see if any of you Rockheads have read the book, and if so, what did you think?
Also, just on the subject of music biographies in general, what are your favorites? I love to read, and biographies are by far my fave...Another great book you should check out if you're a Beatles fan is The Love You Make by Peter Brown... Brown was a personal assistant to the Beatles & their manager Brian Epstein during the 1960's, and later was a board member of the Beatles company Apple Corps. (and also served as a witness at John Lennon & Yoko Ono's wedding). So he obviously was close with the band...and I've read many, many Bea ...

Ok, so my lovely apartment was practically flooded by a hot water heater yesterday....and a lot of my stuff was ruined. All material things & most all of it is replaceable. So I've decided to make a wish list...well, some of these things were never in my room & were not ruined by water, but I'm putting them on the list anyway, and if any of you Rockheads would like to help a Sister out, well stick an email in my box!! And what about you- what's on YOUR wish list?
Here goes:
Boots. I did lose a few pair in the Flood in Sister's Apartment of '08. A size 8 1/2, please. For ideas, you may go to http://www.lingeriediva.com. I prefer over the knee, and ones without laces. Those take too long to undo.
A guy who likes beer, music, (the good kind), one who doesn't email me with his...uh...measurements, and pretty much will leave me alone unless I need something.
A road trip to Nashvil ...

This past Saturday Lynrd Skynyrd & Hank Williams Jr. played at US Bank Arena... I went to the show, mainly to see Skynyrd because I had yet to see them live...And they were great- not a dull moment. I was never a big Hank Jr. fan- love his dad's music, love his son's stuff as well...but was still curious to see him perform in concert. Man how I wish I hadn't! It was not so good. My friend Kevin that went with me said it best about two songs in- "He's either drunk as hell or he just had a stroke backstage!" We left not long after. Had I actually been a big fan of his, it would've been a real disappointment. (Although the fact that the people sitting right in front of me were gettin it on during the show, there was a bit of actual entertainment...) Anyway, Fin has already brought the topic up in his blog of the best shows you've seen...so what are some of the worst ones? Biggest disappointments? Any regrets of seeing a band you loved live?

My favorite show EVER is Twin Peaks....I was just wandering around on youtube (while hard at work on the air, of course!) and found this clip from the show...in my opinion on of the best & freakiest scenes!! I am a huge David Lynch fan but I also get creeped out & scared easily so as much as I love it his stuff scares the bejeezus outta me....enjoy!

On Monday, George Clooney and Renee Zellweger were in Maysville KY to premiere their new movie called "Leatherheads." I was not born in Maysville, but my family moved there when I was four years old and I lived there until I was 20, so I do consider it "home" to some extent. (And it's where I got my first paying gig in radio, as the News Director for WFTM AM-FM) Well Monday the mayor of Maysville, David Cartmell, proclaimed that day "Renee Zellweger Day" in Maysville....which got me to thinkin- where's my day? I'm from Maysville. I'm not a movie star, either, but let's face it, without 'ol Georgie, I'm sure Renee probably would've never even heard of the city. So I (along with my three big brothers Tom, Richard and Fin) think I'm due a "Day" in the city of Maysville as well....we'll see what happens- Mayor David Cartmell is good enough to come on the show tomorrow morning just after 9am, so stay tuned to find out what happens....If I get rej ...
