Linkin Park front man Chester Bennington told Rolling Stone in a recent interview that his new band Dead By Sunrise are in the studio working on material for their debut album. He described the project, which features members of Julien-K, as more of a melodic rock band than the hip-hop influenced Linkin Park.

I wouldn’t call it a side project,” Bennington told Rolling Stone. “We’re a full, ready-to-go band and so this is something we take very seriously.” “We’re not planning on releasing a record this year. We don’t know when it’s going to come out.

Slipknot front man Corey Taylor told Billboard in a recent interview that the band’s new album will include more melodic vocals than before.

“It has so much power in it and yet there are so many great spots for melody,” Taylor explained. “I got to the point where I was tired of pretending that I couldn’t sing every time I made a Slipknot album, so this time I’m going all out.”

Taylor also stated that the band will appear in “evolved‘ new masks and outfits which will be “very dark” to fit the image of the new album. PERSONALLY I CANNOT FU*KING WAIT FOR THIS TO HIT STORES!!!

This years Ozzfest will take place on August 9th in Dallas, TX and will feature three different stages. The main stage will be headlined by Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica and include performances from Serj Tankian, Hellyeah, Jonathan Davis, Cavalera Conspiracy, Shadows Fall, Apocalyptica and In This Moment as well as an all-star tribute to “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott.

The second stage will feature Sevendust, DevilDriver, Kingdom of Sorrow, Soilent Green, Witchcraft and Goatwhore.

The third stage will be dedicated to metal bands from Texas such as The Sword, Drowning Pool and Rigor Mortis.

I DON'T LIKE THAT THESE BIG FESTIVALS ARE CHOOSING JUST ONE CITY TO DO THEIR SHOWS IN HOW BOUT THE REST OF US THAT DON'T LIVE IN THOSE PLACES... BONNAROO, LOLLAPALOOZA, NOW OZZFEST??? THIS IS STUPID... LOOKS LIKE EACH CITY WILL JUST HAVE TO MAKE UP THEIR OWN FESTIVAL FOR THESE PEOPLE TO PLAY AT

Re: Chester Bennington talks about his side project... news on the new Slipknot album... Ozzfest details

The death of slipknot is much like the death of metallica. Metallica died when the 'Black Album' hit stores. Slipknot died when 'Iowa' hit stores. This comming from a guy with the nickname Knot with it tattooed on him, with also the word Maggot tattooed aswell on my forearm. Its a damn shame.
