My Chemical Romance releases a live CD/DVD package, called The Black Parade is Dead!, on today. The two-hour-plus set is taken from two live shows recorded and filmed on October 7th, 2007 at an arena show in Mexico City and October 24th at the tiny club Maxwell's in Hoboken, New Jersey. The Hoboken show was the last time that the band performed as the Black Parade, their fictional alter egos based on the group's 2006 concept album of the same name.
A deluxe version of the set comes boxed in a coffin and feature three more downloadable live tracks, "death certificates" for each member of the group, plus a hand-painted "Day of the Dead" mask also representing each member. My Chemical Romance is currently off the road and presumably starting to work on its next album.

Slipknot's new rock radio single, called "Psychosocial," will be played every hour on the hour this Sunday (June 29th) at Hot Topic stores all over the country, according to Blabbermouth.net. The teen-oriented music, clothing and pop culture chain of stores will play the single one day ahead of its arrival at radio stations on Monday (June 30th). "Psychosocial" is taken from the Iowa group's new album, All Hope Is Gone, which arrives in stores on August 26th.
The members of Slipknot themselves are all in their 30s and probably don't shop much at Hot Topic. But percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan told us that getting older has been a good experience for the group: "People that didn't have families have families now. People are starting to think about having families. You know, I've had a family from day one. And people are just older, wiser, more mature, and crazier. So I think we're more independent, we're more independent of how we feel, ...

Rob Zombie has put a "pinhead" mask up for auction on eBay, with bidding starting at $500, according to MusicRadar.com. The mask appeared in the video for the White Zombie song "Electric Head Pt. 2 (The Ecstasy), from the band's 1995 album Astro Creep 2000. The prop comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Rob Zombie himself, with bidding closing today.
In other news, Zombie has posted new poster art from his next movie, Tyrannosaurus Rex, at the film's MySpace page. Zombie has issued very little information on the film, although it's rumored to be about an ex-wrestler who must battle a twisted gang of bikers. The film is due out on August 28th, 2009. Zombie is also working on his next solo album. His last studio effort, Educated Horses, arrived in the spring of 2006.

Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland and drummer Eric Kretz have been sued by the band's label, Atlantic Records, according to Reuters. The suit, filed on Thursday (June 12th) in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, alleges that Weiland and Kretz have threatened to stop performing and would like to terminate their contract with the label unless it is changed. The label says in the suit that it wants the group to record a new album, and possibly two more after that, even though they've already delivered six albums on their current deal. Guitarist Dean DeLeo and bassist Robert DeLeo were released from their contract in 2003 after telling the label they wanted to pursue separate careers.
Atlantic says that the band's contract was written under New York laws, but that Weiland and Kretz are trying to use California laws to end it. The band performs on Saturday (June 14th) in Las Vegas. THIS OUTTA BE A DEC ...
